Roleplay as a CEO, But Keep One Eye on the Budget

Every player becomes a hungry Indie Studio CEO trying to ship the next big hit. You will build out your video game concept with Feature cards, react to market shifts, and make the kind of decisions that separate “visionary” from “bankrupt with great vibes.”

Step 1- Choose a CEO & Location for your game studio

Do you choose a Thriving Metro with high Operating Expenses (like New York) or Up-&-Coming Hotspot (like Manila) with less experienced Staff?

Step 2 - Create a game based on Gameplay Features you assemble

Your randomly draw & strategically trade Gameplay Features reveal your Studio Strength (Are you a MMO or casual Puzzle developer?)

Step 3 - Pick a Genre!

Choose to Hyper-Focus (Action or Sandbox) if that's your passion.  Or a multi-Genre Sports-Horror game to capture player's imagination.

Step 4 - Manage Studio Expenses and Burn.  Draw a Benefit-Risks Wildcard.

Manage Cashflow and Burn Rate.  Launch before running out of Cash.

Just when you thought you perfected your game strategy, a Benefit can Propel you to Indie Success.  A Risk can Doom you (like unplanned Launch Issues.)

Step 5 - Nail or Miss Your Market!

Market Needs change. One minute Storytelling is IN. Next it's not  Nail what the Players WANT; your Game Soars.  Get it wrong; your Game Flops.

Step 6 - Pitch, Launch, and Monetize!

Pitch it LIVE to an investor.  Who can be 100% fixated on the Story (like Steven Spielberg) or 100% Quant (like Warren Buffett).

Every Choice Matters, Even Your Rivals’

Optimize your deck. Time your moves. React to market shifts. And when someone’s about to launch a masterpiece, introduce them to the Sabotage deck and watch the studio politics bloom.

Pitch to Steal the Spotlight

Pitch Phase brings the finale to life as you sell your in-game creation to an Investor-Judge. It is part mechanics, part creativity, part persuasion, and it turns every ending into a story you will be quoting at the next game night.

Anime Meets Graphic Novel in the Studio

Studio Showdown brings an anime-meets-graphic-novel art style that blends Eastern and Western design influences into bold, card-first visuals you will want to hold, show off, and argue about mid-game.
